2021 BLF Program Report

Member networking meetings

We meet to discuss preselected CSR topics four times a year. In addition to this, BLF members also share real-world examples of best practices during the annual CEO meeting and the regional meetings, which are organized when the need arises.

BLF Relay and specialized seminars

BLF Relay is a series of mentoring events organized with the help of external experts where member companies provide each other with advice on CSR topics of their interest. In addition, we also organize specialized seminars focusing on topics like Corporate Volunteering (as part of the Companies to the Community working group) and Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace (as part of the Diversity Charter initiative).

CSR Summit

CSR Summit is the biggest event dedicated to corporate social responsibility in Central and Eastern Europe. We have been organizing it since 2004 and bringing together experts on CSR from Slovakia and all around the world. It always includes leading-edge speakers from both Slovakia and abroad, real-world practical examples of companies, open discussions about current topics in sustainable business. Every two years FOCUS agency conducts for us a survey on How general public in Slovakia perceives CSR and the results are exclusively presented during the conference.

CSR recommendations

We want corporate social responsibility to become the norm in Slovakia. Every year, we prepare practical advice for companies who want to advance their CSR activities. Our recommendations related to specific CSR topics are available for free download in Slovak language.

Lectures for students

We engage in long-term cooperation with the University of Economics in Bratislava, which offers an optional course titled Corporate Responsibility, where BLF member companies present their real-world experience with CSR to students.

Via Bona Slovakia

BLF is the traditional main partner of this unique Slovak prize that has been awarded since 1998 in order to promote examples of corporate social responsibility and inspire other companies. The winners in individual categories are chosen by independent expert juries.

Diversity Charter

BLF is the administrator of the Diversity Charter, the first and only initiative in Slovakia that connects companies and organizations committed to supporting workplace diversity. We organize regular meetings and both specialized and public events for the charter’s signatories.

The Fund for a Transparent Slovakia

The fund was established in 2012 as an initiative of seven BLF member companies. Its main goal is improving transparency and promoting a healthy business environment in Slovakia by supporting analytical and watchdog organizations.

Companies to the Community

This working group (previously known under the name Engage) connects companies that want to successfully develop employee volunteering programs. It was formed by BLF, but just like our other initiatives, it is currently open to other companies as well.

Digital Skills

Digital Skills is a platform within Business Leaders Forum established by several BLF members. The platform’s activities focus on building and improving digital competences among teachers and students, as well as the effective use of digital technology in the education process.
