BLF Program Report 2023

Member Networking Meetings

Four times a year, we meet and discuss pre-selected ESG topics at quarterly members‘ meetings. Examples from practice are also exchanged by BLF members during the meeting of executive directors (once a year) and meetings in the regions (as needed). We also organize informal networking meetings from 2023.

Specialized Seminars/Webinars

We organize them several times a year on current ESG topics. In 2024, we organized webinars on topics such as Greenwashing and KPIs of an inclusive workplace. In addition, we prepared several events and meetings on volunteering and engagement as part of our Companies to the Community working group, and we also covered various diversity and inclusion topics as part of our Diversity Charter initiative.

Impact Summit

We continue the 20-year tradition of conferences on social responsibility and join forces in 2024 within the framework of the Pontis Foundation. The unique Impact Summit event will connect people from the business, civil and state spheres to search for solutions to key societal challenges and collaborate on them.

ESG Recommendations

We want responsible business to become the norm in Slovakia. Every year, we prepare practical advice for companies that want to move forward in their responsibility. Our recommendations on specific ESG topics are available for free download to the general public.

Lectures for Students

We engage in long-term cooperation with the University of Economics in Bratislava, which offers two optional courses titled Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Governance, where BLF member companies present their best practices to students.

Via Bona Slovakia

BLF is the traditional main partner of this unique Slovak prize that has been awarded since 1998 in order to promote examples of corporate social responsibility and inspire other companies. The winners in individual categories are chosen by independent expert juries.

Diversity Charter

We are the national administrator of the only initiative in Slovakia that connects companies and organizations committed to supporting workplace diversity. We organize regular meetings and both specialized and public events for the charter’s signatories.

Companies to the Community

This working group (previously known under the name Engage) connects companies that want to successfully develop employee volunteering programs. It was formed by BLF, but just like our other initiatives, it is currently open to other companies as well.

Digital Skills

Digital Skills is a platform within Business Leaders Forum established by several its members. The platform’s activities focus on building and improving digital competences among teachers and students, as well as the effective use of digital technology in the education process.

The Fund for a Transparent Slovakia

The fund was established in 2012 as an initiative of seven BLF member companies. Its main goal is improving transparency and promoting a healthy business environment in Slovakia by supporting analytical and watchdog organizations.
