Business Leaders Forum events and activities
We meet to discuss preselected ESG topics four times a year. In addition to this, BLF members also share real-world examples of best practices during the annual CEO meeting and the regional meetings, which are organized when the need arises.
We organize them several times a year on current ESG topics. In 2022, we organized webinars focusing on the topics of Green purchasing, Women in leadership and Energy efficiency in times of crisis. In addition to all this, we prepared several events and meetings focusing on volunteering and engagement as part of our Companies to the Community working group, as well as diversity and inclusion topics as part of our Diversity Charter initiative.
For 19 years now, we have been opening discussions on the latest topics and trends in sustainable business. In 2022, the biggest corporate responsibility conference in Slovakia was organized as a hybrid event. It focused on a wide range of topics – from the Sustainable Development Goals, through disinformation and gender stereotypes, to ESG reporting.
Every year, we prepare practical advice for companies who want to advance their responsible activities. Our recommendations related to specific ESG topics are available for free download for the general public.
We engage in long-term cooperation with the University of Economics in Bratislava, which offers two optional courses titled Corporate Responsibility and Corporate governance, where BLF member companies present their real-world experience with ESG to students.
BLF is the traditional main partner of this unique Slovak prize that has been awarded since 1998 in order to promote examples of corporate social responsibility and inspire other companies. The winners in individual categories are chosen by independent expert juries.
We are the national administrator of the only initiative in Slovakia that connects companies and organizations committed to supporting workplace diversity. We organize regular meetings and both specialized and public events for the charter’s signatories.
This working group (previously known under the name Engage) connects companies that want to successfully develop employee volunteering programs. It was formed by BLF, but just like our other initiatives, it is currently open to other companies as well.
Digital Skills is a platform within Business Leaders Forum established by several BLF members. The platform’s activities focus on building and improving digital competences among teachers and students, as well as the effective use of digital technology in the education process.
The fund was established in 2012 as an initiative of seven BLF member companies. Its main goal is improving transparency and promoting a healthy business environment in Slovakia by supporting analytical and watchdog organizations.
